The Greka Lab at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard is led by renowned physician-scientist Anna Greka. The lab's curiosity-driven investigations are founded on the premise that pathogenic mutations disrupt key cellular processes, and reveal pathways central to human physiology and disease.

Project Overview
The project's goal was to create an engaging and informative site that reflects the lab's innovative ethos. It included a start-to-finish redesign and restructuring of their existing site, including a platform migration, branding elements, and updated content architecture. It was critical that the site promote the lab's cutting-edge research, areas of investigative interest, and core mission while also highlighting the team's prolific publications and initiatives in a way that resonated with scientific communities and broader audiences.

Content strategy
Because the Greka Lab is at the forefront of finding cures to some of the world's most complex genetic diseases, their site needed to accurately reflect their research efforts and and breakthrough discoveries in an engaging, accessible, and sophisticated way.
We created a site architecture that prioritized usability with a well-organized structure and purpose-driven layout. With clear, concise language and easy-to-explore features—including a full catalog of the team's publications—the site provides users with an engaging experience that accurately represents the lab and its groundbreaking work.

Design and brand strategy
The site's design was inspired by the lab's scientific and innovative culture. We created a sleek, modern, and clean aesthetic using minimalistic fonts, bold colors, and compelling visuals.
The site's palette was pulled from the lab's stunning research imagery, with high-contrast elements and black accents and backgrounds. The heading font is an elegant yet modern sans-serif with a design nod to Anna's Greek heritage.
